Web Services Server Module for Niagara AX
This module allows a Niagara AX station to act as a web services server. You can easily make a data point readable and writable via SOAP protocol by simply drag-and-dropping the appropriate extension from the package. For cases when you need a more complex behavior or message structure, the package provides a way to easily build custom web services. None of these features requires writing XML configuration files or having an extensive knowledge of the underlying protocols. The package handles the data type conversions and automatically generates a WSDL description for your services. To make using this tool easier, a new feature has been added to list all available points with Web Service extensions. In addition to the value of any point, the service will also now return the status and background color of the point. We have also created a simple Visual Studio 2008 project in C# for attaching to, browsing for and getting the current value of points in a station. A link to the demo project is listed at the bottom of this page. Requirements: Web Services Server uses Java 1.5, so it needs to be run either under soft JACE, a station with Niagara 3.5 or inside Workbench or Supervisor.
